It’s quite often that I hear from my clients that they don’t feel 100% comfortable in front of the camera. So often couples say they need a little help feeling confident or with posing and I completely understand that. Before their Back Bay engagement session, Kayla & Julian shared with me that having their photo taken wasn’t exactly their favorite thing. And you would never know! They rocked their session and we got some really beautiful shots.

Not every couple loves having their photo taken. As a photographer, it’s my job to adjust for that. It’s my job to make you feel comfortable and like we’re just having fun together. It also helps to go into it expecting to just celebrate your relationship and this time in your life- your engagement! Focus on that and let me take care of the rest.

Tips for Your Engagement Session

Wear something you feel comfortable in. For their Back Bay engagement session Kayla wore a flowy and comfortable dress and Julian looked relaxed in his outfit.

Choose a photographer that isn’t so focused on posing and will let you be a little more natural.

I loved learning about Kayla & Julian’s love story that started long distance and now just sounds like they’re living the dream life of a young couple in love. From travel dreams to brunch in their home, these two are just so happy in each other’s company. It was so obvious working with them that they get each other completely and feel totally comfortable with their partner. Back Bay is a favorite spot of mine for engagement and family sessions. There are so many options so it feels like you’re getting a real variety of photos.
